As head of the Operations team, Van oversees all underwriting operations for Southern Oak Advisory. In this role, he provides effective, proactive service to clients. His responsibilities include handling informal inquiries, ordering medical records, negotiating with carriers as needed to obtain underwriting for a given client, completing application submissions to policy issues, and submitting policy delivery requirements. Van works to efficiently streamline underwriting processes within the firm to facilitate smooth transitions for clients.
Van earned a Bachelor of Science in business management from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 2011, a Master of Arts in sport and event management from East Tennessee State University in 2012 and he holds insurance licenses in Tennessee. During his spare time, he is a volunteer soccer coach, active in Leadership Tomorrow-Sevier County, and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
